Manchester United are ‘interested’ in AS Roma forward and Argentina international Paulo Dybala, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Red Devils are looking to bolster the front line in the upcoming transfer window. One of the players being eyed by the Old Trafford side is the 29-year-old.

United are keen on the forward, who has a peculiar clause in his contract. As per Sport (h/t MEN), foreign clubs can sign the attacker for less than £11 million, while Serie A sides will have to pay £17.6 million.

Dybala signed for the Giallorossi in the summer of 2022 as a free agent. The Argentina international left Juventus after his contract expired.

With the Bianconeri, the 29-year-old has shown promise over the years. However, in recent seasons, the forward’s time in Turin was hampered by injuries.

At Roma, Dybala is once again thriving. The attacker has made 21 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign for the Italian outfit, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists.

The 29-year-old also got to lift the 2022 World Cup with Argentina. While he was not Lionel Scaloni’s first-choice, the forward was instrumental during the penalty shootouts in the quarter-final and final for the South Americans.

United’s forward line has Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst as the only two natural strikers. While the France international has been injury prone this season, the Holland international is on loan at the club until the end of the campaign.

Therefore, the Red Devils are evidently in need of a centre-forward. While Dybala is not the most prolific name out there, the Argentine’s price tag makes him a compelling option. But it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will make a move for the 29-year-old.
