West Bromwich Albion U16 midfielder Jamal Jimoh ‘identified’ by Manchester United

Manchester United have ‘identified’ Jamal Jimoh, the West Bromwich Albion U16 star, as a target for next season, according to The Secret Scout on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Red Devils are looking to add a central midfielder to their U18 team. The 16-year-old is seen as someone capable of playing for the Old Trafford side’s youth side.

The English national has played for the Three Lions’ U15 as well as the U16 teams. It remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will be able to get a hold of him.

United’s U18 side found a lot of success in the previous campaign. They won the FA Youth Cup after beating Nottingham Forest’s U18 team 3-1 in the final.

The Red Devils found a great prospect in Alejandro Garnacho from last season’s successful youth side. At the moment, the Argentine national has established himself in Erik ten Hag’s plans.

In the current campaign, the 18-year-old has come in clutch for the senior side against the likes of Fulham and Manchester City in the Premier League. He has scored and assisted in pivotal moments to hand the Dutch manager a selection headache up front.

The Old Trafford side have other talented youngsters from the academy as well in their ranks currently. Zidane Iqbal caught a lot of people’s attention during the pre-season.

Alongside the Iraq international, Charlie Savage, who joined Forest Green Rovers on loan in January, also impressed many. However, it is Kobbie Mainoo who has gotten ahead of the two and has been given minutes by Ten Hag this season.
