Manchester United to sell the likes of Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial and target three positions

Manchester United are looking to sell the likes of Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay in the upcoming transfer window, according to the Mirror.

Other players on the chopping block for the Red Devils include Eric Bailly and Alex Telles, who are out on loan. Donny van de Beek will also be sacrificed. The Holland international has failed to live up to the expectations this season.

Erik ten Hag is planning an overhaul of his squad. The Dutch manager has already admitted that he will need a few transfer windows to implement his stamp on the team.

Another report from the Mirror states that the Old Trafford side will look to get a striker, central defender and a dynamic midfielder next summer.

Ten Hag is looking to add to the additions he made in the summer of 2022. United signed Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony on a permanent basis.

Most of those signings have become key players for the gaffer in the current campaign. Martinez has formed a stable partnership at the back with Raphael Varane. On the other hand, Eriksen and Casemiro have been the gaffer’s go-to midfielders.

As a result, players like Maguire and McTominay have lost their place in the team. The duo, along with Van de Beek, have hardly started any games for the club in the current campaign.

Therefore, it would not be a surprise to see our captain and other fringe players looking for a move away in the upcoming transfer window.

Hopefully, Ten Hag gets his wishes of signings at the club. The Dutch manager has progressed a lot in recent months in Manchester after a poor start. It will be interesting to see how the gaffer will build the squad for the future.
