Manchester United will still look to do some business and bring in a bargain signing before the end of the ongoing transfer window. The Red Devils are not expected to spend big for now.

In January, the Old Trafford side have already seen two low-cost additions to the squad. Jack Butland was brought on loan from Crystal Palace, while Wout Weghorst completed a temporary switch to the Manchester-based club from Burnley this month.

However, speaking to GiveMeSport, CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs claimed that United were not done yet with their business. But the journalist admits that the uncertainty around the club’s ownership means any arrival would be a bargain one.

“It’s going to be a bargain or budget for Manchester United. Financially speaking, I don’t expect them to spend big or make a statement signing because of the uncertainty over the ownership situation.

“We know that the Glazers don’t want to spend. But if they can get somebody at a relatively low cost, then there’s still some business to be done.”

At the moment, the Red Devils seem to lack depth in certain areas of the pitch. For starters, Weghorst was signed to offer support to Anthony Martial in the squad.

The Holland international was brought to fill the void Cristiano Ronaldo left in Manchester with his untimely departure. However, the 30-year-old has had to come straight into the starting lineup due to the former AS Monaco star’s injury issues.

Martial has been on the sidelines for most of the season. As a result, Erik ten Hag has had to rely on Marcus Rashford on several occasions to lead the line.

As for the middle of the park, United strengthened with the addition of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the summer of 2022. However, the Denmark international suffered an injury in the game against Reading.

On the other hand, Donny van de Beek is also out for the rest of the campaign. The other two established players in the engine room include Fred and Scott McTominay.

Therefore, it is evident that the Dutch manager could do with more options. However, will the hierarchy at the Old Trafford side afford Ten Hag any funds before the end of this month? Only time will tell.
