Chelsea playmaker and Manchester United-linked Hakim Ziyech prefers PSG transfer
Manchester United-linked Hakim Ziyech prefers a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from Premier League rivals Chelsea as the ongoing transfer window comes to a close, according to L’Equipe (h/t Paris Fans).
He was being pursued by the Red Devils. But the Parisians are looking to acquire the Morocco international’s services after losing Pablo Sarabia to Wolverhampton Wanderers this month. At the moment, the Ligue 1 outfit are in discussions with the Blues to get a hold of the 29-year-old.
Ziyech has struggled to settle at the Stamford Bridge side over the years. The Morocco international would welcome a move to the French capital.
However, an agreement has not been struck as of yet between PSG and Chelsea. However, the negotiations are progressing in a fast manner.
The 29-year-old made his way to the Stamford Bridge side in the summer of 2020 from Ajax. However, the playmaker has been unable to showcase his talent on a consistent basis in England.
This season, Ziyech has been a bit-part player for the Blues. Although, the 29-year-old had an encouraging World Cup campaign in Qatar with Morocco. But the West London club have splashed the cash in the ongoing transfer window on attacking recruits.
PSG have an abundance of talent in the attacking areas. Their front line consists of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. However, they do seem to lack a creative spark in the engine room.
As for United, Bruno Fernandes has been an ever-present in the number 10 position since his signing from Sporting CP three years ago. However, there is no established playmaker other than the Portuguese in the Red Devils’ squad.
