Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch on Manchester United radar
Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch is on the radar of Manchester United, with the midfielder unsettled in Germany, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano via Bola.net.
The Red Devils have been handed a setback recently. Christian Eriksen was injured in the game against Reading in the FA Cup and is expected to be out for some time. Donny van de Beek is also out for the rest of the season.
As a result, with the Old Trafford side’s options in the middle of the park limited, the club are eyeing players to pursue in the ongoing transfer window. We seem to have set our sights on the former Ajax star.
Erik ten Hag has recommended United sign Gravenberch. The Dutch manager knows all about the youngster as they worked together during their time in Amsterdam. The gaffer was the one who developed the midfielder before his move to the Bundesliga giants in the summer of 2022.
However, it is unlikely that Bayern will want to part ways with the 20-year-old. The Bavarians are keen to keep a hold of him and feel they do not have enough time to find a replacement this month.
Gravenberch has not started a single game in the Bundesliga for the Allianz Arena side. But the German outfit have promised the Holland international more game time going forward.
In the current campaign, the 20-year-old has made 19 appearances in all competitions for Bayern, scoring a goal and providing an assist. The midfielder missed out on a spot in Louis van Gaal’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.
At the moment, United have an ageing midfield, with Casemiro and Eriksen both turning 31 in February. Fred and Scott McTominay have also spent a lot of time at the Old Trafford side but have been unable to make a significant mark.
