Manchester United are considering recalling Hannibal Mejbri from his loan spell at Birmingham City after the injury to Cristian Eriksen
According to the Express, Manchester United are open to recalling midfielder Hannibal Mjebri, who is currently on loan at Birmingham City in the wake of the ankle injury sustained by Cristian Eriksen.
It was claimed in November by Manchester Evening News (h/t the Express) that United are exploring the prospect of recalling some of the loaned players back.
Now, with a threat of a serious injury to Eriksen sustained against Reading and the Danish was seen leaving the stadium on crutches, it does have made the midfield for Erik ten Hag suddenly light.
As we see other Premier League signings players improve their level for the second half of the season, our current owners are too invested in getting a big price for the sale of their own that spending in this transfer window does not make any sense to them.
Hence, the two incomings in Wout Weghorst and Jack Butland are on loan deals as the club is currently not in a position to pay hefty fees to sign players.
Now, the Eriksen injury has the potential to disrupt the good things done by Ten Hag in the first half of the season as it is still a long season ahead and the numbers in the dressing room are thin compared to other teams.
It is rather shocking that when finally we have a man in charge who is capable of taking the club back to the top, the current owners are showing zero enthusiasm to back him.
Therefore, the only option left now would be recalling some of the loans although that could potentially impact their development.

Currently, players such as Mjebri are gaining important minutes under their belt and it is fair to say that a similar situation would not be possible at United and he would be recalled to be prepared just in case of an emergency.
With less than two days to go until the window shuts, hopefully, United are able to pull off something and get a midfielder in, even if only on a loan deal, which could help us solidify our position in the top four.
