Harry Kane focused on Tottenham Hotspur amidst Manchester United interest
Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is determined to lift silverware with the North London side amidst interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils have been linked with the 29-year-old’s signature. Erik ten Hag is looking for a striker who can lead the Old Trafford side’s front line for the long term. The Spurs star is one of the players being considered by the club.
Kane’s current contract with Tottenham is set to expire in the summer of 2024. United are monitoring the England international’s situation at the North London side.
However, speaking to the media via the Mirror (h/t Manchester Evening News) after Spurs’ 1-0 win over Fulham, the 29-year-old reiterated his desire to lift a trophy at Tottenham. The striker also revealed there would also be talks about a new deal.
“Of course, I still want to win trophies for Tottenham Hotspur. That’s been my goal since I started playing first team football with them. It hasn’t happened.
“There’s not been much talk [about a new deal] if I’m totally honest. I’m sure they’ll be conversations over the coming months but to be honest I’m just focused on this season and doing my best for the team.”
Kane made his way through the youth ranks at Tottenham. After a few seasons out on loan, the 29-year-old broke out for Spurs in the 2014/15 campaign.
Since then, the England international has developed into one of the best forwards in the world. He has led the North London side’s line for several years, consistently finding the back of the net.
However, team titles have eluded Kane at the N17. While the 29-year-old has won multiple individual accolades, like the Premier League Golden Boot, he has been unable to lead Tottenham in breaking their trophy drought.
United’s current forward line has Anthony Martial and Wout Weghrost as the number nines. The France international has been injury prone this season, while the Holland international has been signed on loan until the end of the campaign to fill the void Cristiano Ronaldo left.

A statement signing like Harry Kane has the potential to take the Old Trafford side back to the top. But it remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old puts pen to paper on a new deal at Tottenham.
