Aston Villa and Manchester United ‘interested’ in Real Betis forward Luiz Henrique
Premier League rivals Aston Villa, along with Manchester United, are ‘interested’ in Real Betis star Luiz Henrique, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have been ‘closely monitoring’ the 22-year-old for some time now. In the previous transfer window, the La Liga outfit signed the Brazil U20 international from Fluminense.
Betis are now expected to demand £44 million to part ways with Henrique. It remains to be seen whether either the Villans or the Old Trafford side would meet those demands.
The 22-year-old has impressed during his short time with Los Verdiblancos. In 24 appearances in all competitions this season, the winger has found the back of the net three times and has provided five assists.
Villa have brought many players in the last two years since parting ways with Jack Grealish, who signed for Manchester City in the summer of 2021. However, Dean Smith and Steven Gerrard were unable to get the best out of the Lions.
Now, Unai Emery has taken charge of the Birmingham-based club. The former Arsenal head coach has managed to turn things around at the Villa Park side. The Spanish manager has the likes of Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia at his disposal in the attack.
United’s forward line was bolstered by Antony in the previous transfer window. We subsequently signed Wout Weghorst this month as a short-term replacement after Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit.
Erik ten Hag has the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho at his disposal. However, the gaffer has preferred the former Ajax star on the right wing.

Henrique is a left-footed winger with massive potential. The 22-year-old could be brought to add competition for Antony in the squad. However, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will make a move to get a hold of the Brazilian’s signature.
