West Ham considering Scott McTominay as Declan Rice’s replacement
According to @ExWHUEmployee via @WestHam_Central (h/t Manchester Evening News), West Ham United are considering Manchester United star Scott McTominay as the replacement for the exit-bound Declan Rice.
Rice’s future with the Hammers is under a lot of question marks. He has been linked with a move away from the club in the summer. Should the Englishman leave, then they could be set to make a move for the Scottish midfielder.
Rice is one of the most talented players going around in English football. The West Ham United midfielder has established himself as one of the best deep-lying midfielders in the league and is wanted by many clubs.

The English midfielder is also one of the first names in Gareth Southgate’s team sheet for the national team. If he were to leave the club, then West Ham will have a huge void to fill in their midfield region.
It looks like Scott McTominay is the preferred one to replace Rice for the Hammers. The Man United midfielder has lost his prominence since the arrival of Casemiro and might be open to a move for regular minutes.
Although he has his limitations, McTominay is a solid midfielder. He has a decent future in the game. The talented Man United man has shown his quality at times at Old Trafford but there is a feeling he is not good enough for us.
However, a player like McTominay might just be the kind of profile the Hammers want in their team. The 26-year-old has the experience of playing in the Premier League and would fit in like a glove for West Ham.
However, the Hammers will know that they will have to drag themselves out of the relegation scrap they find themselves in. They did do that last night with an impressive win against Everton but they have a long way to go.
