Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez holds no grudges against ten Hag despite not being selected
According to the report at The Athletic (subscription required), Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez holds no grudges against manager Erik ten Hag despite not being selected for the derby.
The report states that ten Hag has been consistent in terms of giving players an extended run of games if they are playing well. For that reason, Luke Shaw is getting regularly picked to partner Raphael Varane in central defence, while Tyrell Malacia is a fixture at left-back at the moment.
As per expectations, Martinez was late to join his club after the World Cup due to the celebratory scenes back in Argentina. As a result, he has to wait for his turn to play the bigger games for United despite being one of the best players in the team in the first half of this campaign.
It is good to see that the Argentine defender understands the fact that in-form players are getting selected ahead of him. This shows good harmony among the players in the squad and creates healthy competition for places.
Those are the two we want to see happening if we are to get close to winning trophies this season. As of now, United are alive in all four competitions they are taking part in. How long does the quest of winning all of them remain, only time will tell.
After that impressive win over Manchester City, the Red Devils are only one point behind their noisy neighbours and nine behind leaders Arsenal, who they face in the league at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.

We are currently on a run of nine consecutive wins. We have to go back to the Sir Alex Ferguson days for the last time we won 10 in a row. There is a chance for ten Hag and his men to match when they face Crystal Palace on Wednesday. It is an important game to keep the momentum of the season alive.
