Borussia Dortmund have ‘explored’ loan deal for Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga
Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have ‘explored’ the conditions for a loan deal for Manchester United star Anthony Elanga, according to talkSPORT via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The German outfit’s interest in the Sweden international is concrete. They are looking to take the youngster on a temporary move to Signal Iduna Park.
However, it is up to the Red Devils to decide whether to send the 20-year-old to BVB. As for the player, he is open to joining Edin Terzic’s team. Everton are also looking to acquire the forward’s services.
Elanga made his way through the youth ranks at the Old Trafford side and broke out in the senior side last season. After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure, Ralf Rangnick counted heavily on the youngster.
In the previous campaign, the 20-year-old enjoyed regular game time. He made 27 appearances in all competitions for United last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
However, opportunities have been few and far between for the Sweden international under Erik ten Hag. Minutes on the pitch have been hard to come by for the forward this season.
In the previous campaign, the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial struggled to make an impact at the Old Trafford side. However, the Dutch manager’s arrival has led to them performing well.
Also, the signing of Antony has increased competition for places in the starting lineup. Also, Alejandro Garnacho has become an important player under Ten Hag in recent weeks.

Wout Weghorst has signed for United until the end of the season as well. Therefore, if the gaffer does not plan to use Elanga a lot, it would be wise to consider sending him to Dortmund. The Bundesliga outfit are notorious for developing world-class talent like the Red Devils’ Jadon Sancho.
