Manchester United-linked Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic available on loan in January
Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past, is available on loan in the ongoing transfer window, according to TuttoJuve (h/t The Sun).
The midfielder’s current contract with the Biancocelesti expires in the summer of 2024. However, the 27-year-old is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal. As a result, the Serie A outfit are losing patience.
Therefore, the Serbia international could be ‘allowed’ to leave the Rome-based club in January. The Italian side are willing to cash in on him.
Lazio are looking to send Milinkovic-Savic on loan this month. However, the deal would include a £44 million obligation to buy the midfielder in the summer of 2023.
Arsenal are also a side who have been associated with the Serbian’s signature. The Gunners are flying high at the moment, sitting at the top of the table in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta is keen on adding depth to the middle of the park.
As for United, we recently signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. The duo arrived in the previous transfer window. The Brazilian signed from Real Madrid while we got the Denmark international as a free agent.
Casemiro and Eriksen have both performed well in Manchester. The two have cemented their place in Erik ten Hag’s plans and have started in a majority of the fixtures this season.
But Milinkovic-Savic is a quality midfielder as well. The 27-year-old has been one of the best players in Serie A over the years. He has the ability to create chances and has a keen eye for goal as well.

Casemiro’s arrival has seemingly taken us up a notch. We are alive in every single competition at the moment. Erik ten Hag evidently needs more quality players in the squad. If Lazio are willing to play ball, the Red Devils should make a move to bring Milinkovic-Savic to Manchester.
