Everton have ‘firmed up’ loan offer for Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga
Premier League rivals Everton have ‘firmed up’ their loan offer for Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga, according to The Daily Mail.
The Toffees are looking to take the 20-year-old on a temporary move in the ongoing transfer window. However, Frank Lampard’s team needs to sell some players first. Abdoulaye Doucoure, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina and Jean-Philippe Gbamin are all available.
Erik ten Hag is yet to decide on the Sweden international’s future at the Old Trafford side. However, the forward is growing frustrated with his role and is not willing to stay with the Red Devils as a bit-part player.
The Goodison Park side are eyeing a winger and a striker in January. But they are forced to look at options on loan. Lampard was keen on bringing Elanga to Merseyside in the summer of 2022 and is still interested in him. However, there are several other Premier League clubs monitoring the Swedish national’s situation.
The 20-year-old broke into United’s first team in the previous campaign under Ralf Rangnick. He got a lot of opportunities under the former interim head coach.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were underwhelming last season. The latter joined Sevilla on loan last January while the England international struggled to find his feet.
However, Ten Hag’s arrival has turned the two forwards into key players for the Red Devils. The 25-year-old has especially been brilliant in the current campaign.
Also, the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Antony have been performing decently. As a result, Elanga has fallen down the pecking order. He was given a start in our last fixture against Charlton Athletic, but the youngster was unable to make an impact.

As of now, it does not look like the 20-year-old is in the gaffer’s plans. Thus, it would be wise to let the Swedish national move to Everton for the rest of the season to further his development.
