Crystal Palace to ‘enquire’ about Aaron Wan-Bissaka during Manchester United Jack Butland talks
Premier League rivals Crystal Palace will ‘enquire’ about Aaron Wan-Bissaka during the negotiations with Manchester United for Jack Butland, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Metro].
The Red Devils are interested in bringing the 29-year-old shot-stopper to the club. However, during the talks with the Old Trafford side, the Eagles are expected to bring up the right-back.
The Old Trafford side signed the 25-year-old from the Selhurst Park side in the summer of 2019 for £50 million. However, in the previous transfer window, the England U21 international was linked with a move back to his former club after falling out of favour in Manchester.
Wan-Bissaka is once again being linked with a move away from United. He could be allowed to leave the club in January. West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also eyeing the right-back.
The 25-year-old enjoyed regular first-team action at the Old Trafford side during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s managerial stint at the club. However, the England U21 international’s fortunes at the Red Devils have turned since the Norwegian gaffer’s departure.
Ralf Rangnick’s appointment saw Diogo Dalot get an opportunity in the starting lineup. The Portugal international was preferred on the right-hand side of the defence by the former interim head coach.
The 23-year-old has now cemented his place in the team under Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager has started the former FC Porto in a majority of the fixtures.
Consequently, Wan-Bissaka has hardly got minutes on the pitch. But since the end of the 2022 World Cup, the 25-year-old has been handed four consecutive starts and has performed well.

While Dalot is the number one at right-back, we evidently need cover for the Portuguese in the squad. The England U21 international is the only natural cover United have for the 23-year-old. Thus, it would be wise to keep a hold of him for the rest of the season.
