Jude Bellingham to discuss Borussia Dortmund future in January amidst Manchester United interest
Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is set to discuss his future with the Bundesliga outfit in January amidst interest from Manchester United, according to German football expert Jan Aage Fjortoft on Twitter via Liverpool Echo (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are one of the several clubs monitoring the England international’s situation at BVB. However, the 19-year-old and his parents will sit down with the German side next month to talk about the next steps.
Bellingham joined Dortmund in the summer of 202 from Birmingham City. Since then, the midfielder has grown from strength to strength and developed into a quality player.
The 19-year-old has been a first-team player for the Bundesliga outfit since his debut season. At the German side, the England international has thrived over the years.
In the current campaign, Bellingham has taken his game to the next level. The midfielder has put in some brilliant displays for Dortmund, especially in the Champions League against the likes of Manchester City and Sevilla.
The 19-year-old has also been handed the captain’s armband on a few occasions by Edin Terzic. This season, he has found the back of the net nine times in 22 appearances in all competitions for BVB.
Bellingham also shone for England at the 2022 World Cup. The 19-year-old scored his debut goal for the Three Lions in the opening group-stage fixture in Qatar against Iran. The midfielder subsequently started every game for Gareth Southgate’s team as they made it to the quarter-finals.
United reinforced their engine room in the recent transfer window with the addition of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. The duo have cemented their place in Erik ten Hag’s plans.
