Louis Saha warns France duo Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani about Manchester United move
Former Manchester United star Louis Saha has warned France forwards Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani about a move to the Red Devils. The ex-striker feels the duo need to be “cautious” about a move to the Old Trafford side.
The Borussia Monchengladbach star is in the final year of his current contract. As a result, the 25-year-old is on the Manchester-based club’s radar. As for the Eintracht Frankfurt star, he has caught a lot of people’s eyes in the current campaign.
Speaking to Paddy Power (h/t Metro), Saha, who was handed 20 caps for Les Bleus during his playing career, praises Thuram and Kolo Muani. However, the former United star wants the duo to think twice before moving to Manchester.
“Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani made a brilliant contribution to the game [against Argentina] in very difficult circumstances. They maintained their composure in crucial moments, and they are great players.
“At this moment in time, young players moving to Manchester United need to be cautious because we have seen some really good players struggle at United. I’m not saying they shouldn’t join because of that, but it’s a difficult time.”
France made it to the final of the 2022 World Cup. The Gladbach and Frankfurt forwards came on as substitutes for Didier Deschamps’ team in the 41st minute as the side captained by Hugo Lloris looked to change things.
La Albiceleste dominated Les Bleus for most of the fixture on Sunday (18 November) at Lusail Stadium. However, the 2018 World Cup winner managed to find a way back just before the end of the match.
Thuram and Kolo Muani brought more energy and creativity to the French attack. The 24-year-old won the first penalty that Kylian Mbappe converted. The Frankfurt forward had a brilliant chance at the end of the fixture in extra time, which was saved by Emiliano Martinez.
In the end, Argentina managed to get over the line in the penalty shootouts. The Aston Villa goalkeeper came in clutch once again for the South Americans after his heroics against the Netherlands.
The Gladbach striker has been in fine form for the Bundesliga outfit in the current campaign. He has been pushed to a more central position this season and has thrived for Die Fohlen.
