Manchester United make contact with the agent of Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries
Manchester United have made contact with Rafaela Pimenta, the agent of Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries, about the availability of the 26-year-old, according to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have enquired about the possibility of a transfer in January. The Red Devils are interested in bolstering the right-hand side of the defence.
In the current campaign, Diogo Dalot has been the first choice for Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager has started the Portugal international in the majority of our fixtures.
The 23-year-old has been in fine form for the Old Trafford side this season. He has been one of the most improved players in the squad since the previous campaign.
However, there seems to be no quality backup for Dalot in the squad. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one of the options at Ten Hag’s disposal. However, the England U21 international has fallen below the Portuguese star in the pecking order.
The former Crystal Palace star, who signed for United in the summer of 2019, has seen his fortunes drastically change at the club over the last few months. The 25-year-old has played just four minutes of football this term.
Initially, Wan-Bissaka was the first name on the team sheet under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, since the Norwegian’s departure, the 25-year-old has fallen out of favour.
While Dalot has been brilliant, Ten Hag has had to deploy someone like Tyrell Malacia when the 23-year-old has been unavailable. Thus, we evidently need to add reinforcements to challenge the Portuguese in the squad.
