Erik ten Hag unsure when Manchester United star Jadon Sancho will be back from individual training programme
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is unsure about when Jadon Sancho will be back at the club after his individual training programme. The 22-year-old is currently in the Netherlands working on himself.
The England international signed for the Red Devils last year from Borussia Dortmund. However, the forward’s time at the Old Trafford Trafford side has been rather underwhelming up until now.
Speaking to BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Dutch manager hopes to have Sancho back soon. However, the gaffer is unsure of the timeline.
“I’ve had several talks with Jadon. He’s on a physical programme, our aim is to get him back as quickly as possible but I can’t say when.”
The 22-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at Manchester City before moving to BVB. At the Bundesliga outfit, the England international shone. The winger caught a lot of people’s attention with his creativity in the final third.
However, since Sancho’s move to United, he has been unable to replicate his Dortmund form. The 33-year-old has looked short of confidence at times when taking on opposition defenders.
At the start of the 2022/23 campaign, the forward seemed to have found his feet. The England international got on the scoresheet in some crucial games for us.
But the youngster has been unable to build on those performances and has been unable to make an impact when he has featured. In recent fixtures, the former BVB star has lost his place in the starting lineup.
Sancho also was unable to break into Gareth Southgate’s plans for the 2022 World Cup. He did not make the cut for England’s travelling squad to Qatar.
