Chelsea eye Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho as replacement for USMNT star Christian Pulisic
Premier League rivals Chelsea are interested in signing Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho as a replacement for USMNT star Christian Pulisic, according to Calciomercatoweb via football.london (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Blues are looking to part ways with the American and view the Red Devils’ winger as the ideal option. Both of the players were formerly of Borussia Dortmund.
Unfortunately, Pulisic and Sancho have failed to make a mark in England after impressing in Germany. While the England international is only in his second season, the USMNT star has struggled in West London for some years now.
The 24-year-old American made his way to the Stamford Bridge side for the 2019/20 campaign from BVB. His first year in the English top flight was decent. However, since then, the forward has found himself out of various managers’ plans.
Pulisic struggled to cement a place under former manager Thomas Tuchel. With Graham Potter’s arrival, the American has once again found himself out of the starting lineup.
Sancho has similarly been underwhelming since joining United from Dortmund last year. The 22-year-old has failed to deliver for the Red Devils consistently.
The England international started the new season on an encouraging note under Erik ten Hag. However, his performances have fallen down in the last few fixtures for the Old Trafford side.
While Sancho failed to make it into Gareth Southgate’s plans for the World Cup, Pulisic impressed many with his displays in Qatar. However, the USMNT crashed out of the round of 16, losing 3-1 to the Netherlands.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently departed the club. The Portuguese international’s departure has dwindled the gaffer’s options up front. Thus, it would not make sense to sell Sancho, especially to a direct rival like Chelsea.
