West Ham United want £100m for England star Declan Rice amidst Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City interest
Manchester United are in the race for England and West Ham United star Declan Rice alongside Chelsea and Manchester City. The Hammers will demand around £100 million for their captain, according to The Guardian (h/t Express).
Newcastle may also tip their hat in for the midfielder’s signature if they qualify for the Champions League. The Magpies are currently third in the Premier League table this season.
The 23-year-old has been associated with a move away from East London for some time now. His current contract expires at the end of 2024, although David Moyes’ team have the option to extend it by a further season.
Rice has been at West Ham since the age of 14 after leaving the Stamford Bridge side’s academy. The 23-year-old has developed into one of the finest defensive midfielders in the English top flight.
However, it seems the Hammers will soon have to part ways with the England international. He recently rejected a new eight-year deal in May presented by the East London club.
Graham Potter currently has N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic, amongst others, he can count on at Chelsea. However, the 2018 World Cup winner and the Euro 2020 winner’s future in West London are uncertain.
City, on the other hand, signed Kalvin Phillips in the summer of 2022 from Leeds United. The Sky Blues can also count on Rodri in the number six position.
Man United also acquired Casemiro from Real Madrid in the recent transfer window. The Brazilian has made the defensive midfield position his own at the Old Trafford side.
