Liverpool midfielder Fabinho aims dig at Manchester United trio Casemiro, Fred and Antony
Brazil and Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has aimed a sly dig at Manchester United trio Casemiro, Fred and Antony. The star currently playing for the Merseysiders has stated that his three national teammates are playing for the “wrong” club in England.
Casemiro joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid in the recent transfer window. The 30-year-old’s arrival was followed by our 22-year-old forward from Ajax. And Fred has been with the Old Trafford side for some years now. The 29-year-old joined the club from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018.
Speaking to Brazilian outlet UOL (h/t Mirror), Fabinho jested that Casemiro should not have gone to United. He also brought up Brazilian teammates Fred and Antony making their way to the Theatre of Dreams.
“Too bad he [Casemiro] went to the wrong place in England, huh? I hope he doesn’t improve Manchester United that much. He, Fred, Antony, there are a lot of Brazilians going to the wrong place in the country.”
The 30-year-old’s arrival from Spain has evidently brought much-needed quality to the defensive midfield position at the Old Trafford side. He has made a difference for us playing in the number six position.
However, it did take Casemiro time to settle in with the Red Devils. Scott McTominay managed to keep the former Madrid star out of the starting lineup with his performances.
But the 30-year-old has shown why he has five Champions League medals. Since the Brazilian’s Premier League debut against Everton, he has not looked back.
Similarly, Antony has brought flair to the right-hand side of United’s attack. The 22-year-old scored on his debut against Arsenal in a 3-1 victory at Old Trafford in the league. He subsequently went on to find the back of the net in his first three English top-flight matches for the Red Devils.
Fred has been industrious for the Old Trafford side for many years now. However, the 29-year-old has been unable to convince fans of his qualities during his time in Manchester.
