Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe is not being eyed by Manchester United and the club have no plans to sign him, according to ManchesterWorld (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are not interested in bringing the 23-year-old to Old Trafford. And the hierarchy of the Manchester-based club are using the links as a ‘clear attempt to distract from the Ronaldo situation’.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, the Portugal international slated United and the manager. The 37-year-old stated that he felt “betrayed” by the club. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also stated that he had no respect for Erik ten Hag.
United evidently need to bolster the forward line if Ronaldo leaves in January. And Mbappe has been one of the best players in the world over the years.
The France international joined PSG in the summer of 2017 after impressing at AS Monaco. And the 23-year-old has gone on to become a lethal finisher with the Parisians.
Mbappe’s speed and eye for goal make him a fearsome striker for any opposition defence. In the current campaign, the forward has scored 19 goals for Christophe Galtier’s team in 20 appearances in all competitions.
The 23-year-old is also set to feature for France in Qatar. Didier Deschamps’ team look to defend their title as World Cup champions. Les Bleus triumphed in Russia and lifted the coveted golden trophy in 2018.
Mbappe was a key member of the French national side that won the prestigious tournament four years back. And Deschamps’ team will evidently hope to be only the third side in history to win back-to-back World Cup titles.
