Inter Miami owner David Beckham speaks with representatives of Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United icon and current owner of Inter Miami, David Beckham, has held a conversation with the representatives of Cristiano Ronaldo about a move to America, according to The Sun.
The ex-Red Devil has got an encouraging response from the Portugal international’s entourage. And the 37-year-old has indicated a willingness to move to Major League Soccer.
Beckham’s side are interested in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. The forward’s recent interview with Piers Morgan has led to speculation about his future in Manchester.
Ronaldo criticised the club and stated that he had no respect for Erik ten Hag. As a result, United are considering parting ways with the 37-year-old. And that has alerted Inter Miami.
The Portuguese icon has lost his place in the starting lineup under the Dutch manager. And the forward has to settle for a role off the bench this season. He has also not had the best of campaigns in front of goal.
Ronaldo was our top goalscorer last term, with 24 goals in all competitions. However, in the 2022/23 season, he has found the back of the net just three times in 16 appearances in the Premier League and Europa League combined.
The bombshell interview dropped hours after United beat Fulham 2-1. Alejandro Garnacho scored a stoppage-time winner to hand the Red Devils the three points. The Portuguese star was not in the travelling squad to Craven Cottage.
Subsequently, the 37-year-old has met up with his national side ahead of the World Cup. Fernando Santos’ team will take on Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H in Qatar.
