Borussia Dortmund to hold talks with Jude Bellingham after World Cup amidst Manchester United links

Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of Borussia Dortmund, has revealed that the German outfit will hold conversations with Jude Bellingham about his future amidst links to Manchester United.

The Red Devils, along with rivals Manchester City and several other clubs, are keeping an eye on the 19-year-old. And the England international could be on his way out of the Bundesliga giants next year.

Speaking to Bild-TV via Get German Football News (h/t Manchester Evening News), Watzke disclosed BVB’s plans to speak with Bellingham after the World Cup and figure out what he wants.

“I think as soon as Qatar is over, we’re going to have a basic conversation about what he actually wants.

“And then he should just tell us whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to go. Either way, we’ll discuss it pleasantly and reasonably.”

The England international has been in fine form since joining Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020. and the 19-year-old has been a key member of the German outfit’s starting lineup since his arrival.

However, Bellingham has seemingly taken his game to the next level in the current campaign. The midfielder’s performances this season have turned many people’s heads.

In the Champions League group stages against City home and away, the 19-year-old held his own. The England international was one of the best players on the pitch when BVB took on the Sky Blues.

United bolstered the middle of the park in the recent transfer window with the addition of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to the squad. And the two have been impressive for the Old Trafford side in the 2022/23 campaign.

The Denmark international scored his first goal for the Red Devils against Fulham on Sunday (13 November) in a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage. And he has become an essential player for us in the number eight position.

However, both Eriksen and Casemiro are 30. On the other hand, Bellingham is one of the best midfielders in the game and has several years left in the game. Thus, the club need to go all out to get the England international to Manchester.
