Jose Peseiro believes Napoli will ask for big money to part ways with Manchester United target Victor Osimhen
Nigeria national team manager Jose Peseiro believes Napoli will ask for a huge transfer fee to part ways with Manchester United target Victor Osimhen. The head coach of the Super Eagles feels every top team around Europe is looking to snap up the 23-year-old.
The striker moved to Italy in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille. He impressed in France for a season and got a move to the Serie A giants.
At Napoli, Osimhen is thriving. And speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, Peseirohas praised the 23-year-old for his maturity. And the Nigeria national team manager anticipates a number of teams pursuing the striker’s signature in the future.
“It’s not easy, usually strikers reach his level at an older age, but I don’t think I’m wrong when I say that every club in the world would like to sign him.
“Osimhen is a complete striker. Napoli will demand several million in the summer and I think many clubs will make their move because Osimhen still has room for improvement.”
The Super Eagles forward is enjoying an impressive campaign in Naples this term. Napoli sit at the top of Serie A. And the Italians comfortably booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League. And they face Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16.
Osimhen is currently the top goalscorer in Serie A this season, finding the back of the net eight times and providing three assists in 10 appearances. In October, he also scored his first Champions League goal for the Italians against Ajax.
United are currently seemingly short-staffed in the centre-forward position. As a result, Marcus Rashford, a natural winger, has been deployed as the number nine for the majority of the campaign.
Cristiano Ronaldo has not had much luck under the Dutch manager. The Portugal international has mostly come off the bench for the Red Devils in the Premier League in the current campaign.
Anthony Martial is another striker at Ten Hag’s disposal. However, the France international has struggled with injuries this season. As a result, the 26-year-old has scarcely been available for selection.
