Manchester United optimistic about agreeing new contract with Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford
Manchester United are optimistic as they are set to hand out a new contract to Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are hopeful of agreeing new deals with the England international as well as the Portuguese star. They are both in the final year of their current contracts, but the Old Trafford side have the option for a further season.
United are moving forward with talks for Rashford and Dalot’s extensions. And the Red Devils believe the English and Portuguese players are keen to continue their association with the Manchester-based club.
The 23-year-old right-back is attracting interest from the likes of Barcelona. On the other hand, the 25-year-old forward is eyed by Paris Saint-Germain. His representative met with the French outfit in the recent summer.
Dalot has become a regular for the Old Trafford side under Erik ten Hag. The Portugal international has started in every game for the Dutch manager this season.
Previously, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the 23-year-old played a bit-part role. He was behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the pecking order. However, the arrival of Ralf Rangnick changed the former FC Porto star’s fortunes in Manchester.
Similarly, Rashford has been pivotal to Ten Hag’s plans at United. The forward, who turned 25 recently, has found his form under the Dutch manager. The England international scored his 100th goal for the Red Devils against West Ham United in the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford.
After the disappointing start to the campaign, we have done well to claw our way back up the table in the Premier League. Rashford and Dalot have been some of our best performers under Ten Hag.
