Fenerbahce identify Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as a top target for the January transfer window
Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has been identified by Fenerbahce as one of their main targets in the upcoming transfer window, according to Fanatik (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Turkish outfit have already sounded off the France international’s agent about his availability in the winter. However, it is unlikely that the 26-year-old will depart the Old Trafford side.
Martial has become an important player for Erik ten Hag this season. And the Dutch manager is an admirer of the former AS Monaco star. The gaffer sees the forward as a big part of the club’s plans.
The French national has had a mixed campaign at United under Ten Hag. While the 26-year-old has performed exceptionally, he has not had as many opportunities due to injury issues.
Martial has made four appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season. And the French national has contributed in every one of those games. He has registered three goals and two assists.
Unfortunately, the 26-year-old has not been able to showcase his talent consistently since the arrival of the former Ajax head coach.
The forward had an encouraging pre-season under Ten Hag after returning from his disappointing short loan spell at Sevilla. The Dutch manager seems to have lifted his spirits.
In the absence of Martial, Marcus Rashford has thankfully stepped up. The 25-year-old is the club’s leading goalscorer this season. He has kept Cristiano Ronaldo out of the starting lineup.
However, some fans feel the French national would be better than Rashford as our number nine. While the United academy graduate has been impactful, his finishing has left a lot to be desired.

It would not be wise for the Old Trafford side to accept an offer from Fenerbahce for the 26-year-old. The Red Devils are already evidently short of depth in the centre-forward position.
