Antony and Jadon Sancho miss Manchester United training ahead of Real Sociedad clash
Manchester United duo Antony and Jadon Sancho have missed training ahead of the side’s Europa League clash against Real Sociedad on Thursday (3 November), according to Manchester Evening News’ senior football writer Tyrone Marshall on Twitter (h/t Metro).
The Red Devils take on the La Liga outfit in the final group stage game of the UEL campaign this season, having already qualified for the knockout rounds. La Real currently sit at the top of the table in Group E. And the Red Devils will need a victory by two clear goals to finish first.
It seems likely that the Old Trafford side will be without their two mercurial wingers when they take on the Basque Country outfit at Reale Arena.
Antony last featured for Man United in the 3-0 victory over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League. However, the Brazilian was taken off at half-time by Erik ten Hag. Subsequently, the 22-year-old did not make the squad to face West Ham United in the Premier League.
On the other hand, Sancho’s previous appearance for the Red Devils came in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Since then, the England international has been on the bench for the clash against the Moldovan outfit and the Hammers.
Antony has been one of the most used players in the squad since his arrival. The Brazilian was put straight into the starting lineup a few days after his transfer from Ajax against Arsenal. And the 22-year-old scored on his debut as we beat the Gunner 3-1.
Sancho started the season in fine form. The forward scored some crucial goals against the likes of Liverpool and Leicester City in the initial stages of the campaign. However, since then, the England international has been a bit underwhelming.
