Christian Eriksen reveals he loves playing with Casemiro in the middle of the park at Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has revealed that he loves playing with Casemiro in the middle of the park at the club. The two joined the Old Trafford side in the recent transfer window.
The Denmark international signed for United in the summer of 2022 as a free agent, while the Brazilian was bought from Real Madrid. And the duo have made an immediate impact in Manchester.
Speaking to the media via the Metro, Eriksen expressed his delight at partnering with Casemiro in the engine room. But the Dane also admits that he is still getting to know the Brazilian.
“I think you can see in the games – we like playing together,
“Of course we’re still getting to know one and other on and off the pitch, but he’s a nice guy off the pitch as well, and on the pitch I think football knowledge people know he’s been playing games like this for last eight years at Real Madrid.
“So I’m not surprised he can cope. It’s lovely to play with him.”
United have found their rhythm this season after an abysmal start in the Premier League initially. We lost to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford in the opening two fixtures.
However, the Red Devils have managed to turn things around since then. Barring the 6-3 loss at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City, the Old Trafford side have been in decent form.
Casemiro finally got his start in a red shirt in the English top flight-against Everton at Goodison Park. And since then, the Brazilian has been one of our best players.
Eriksen has also been a surprise package for fans in the current campaign. Supporters did not expect the Denmark international to have the impact he has had in the team, although he did show his brilliance during his short spell at Brentford.
Casemiro and Eriksen started together for the first time in the PL against the Toffees. And the duo managed to control the proceedings as we won 2-1. We had to wait a while to see the two together again. And against Chelsea, the Dane and Brazilian put in a decent showing in the 1-1 draw.
