Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is on the radar of Manchester United, is attracting interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are looking at a swap deal for the 27-year-old that would involve Albert Sambi Lokonga going to Rome, according to Calcio Mercato (h/t Daily Mail).

Arsenal are looking to offer the Biancocelesti £52 million plus their young Belgian star. However, Mikel Arteta’s side face competition for the Serbian national’s signature, with Juventus, Liverpool and United interested in him.

The midfielder has developed into one of the best midfielders in Italy over the years. And his performances this season have turned many heads.

In 11 Serie A appearances for Lazio in the current campaign, Milinkovic-Savic has registered three goals and provided seven assists. The 27-year-old has thrived playing in the middle of the park in the number eight position under Maurizio Sarri.

United signed Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the recent transfer window to bolster the engine room. The two have made an immediate impact in the side.

However, the Red Devils lack goals from midfield. Earlier, Bruno Fernandes used to be the one from the middle of the park to find the back of the net consistently. However, the Portugal international’s numbers have dried up since last season.

Paul Pogba was another star capable of creating and scoring chances. The France international was a quality box-to-box player. Unfortunately, it did not work out for the 19-year-old in Manchester and he left for Juventus in the summer of 2022.

United cannot let Arsenal get Milinkovic-Savic. The Gunners sit at the top of the Premier League table at the moment. And the arrival of someone like the Serbian to the Emirates Stadium would make them evidently stronger.

The Red Devils could hinder Arteta’s plan and add much-needed quality to their own midfield if they get their hands on Milinkovic-Savic in the upcoming transfer windows.
