Arsenal hero Thierry Henry feels Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford could have done better against Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old had a number of chances in the game but failed to make them count.

The Red Devils took on Spurs at Old Trafford on 19 October in the Premier League and beat them 2-0. We dominated the play against the North London side and had the majority of the chances in the game. However, Hugo Lloris made some crucial saves to deny us a bigger margin of win.

Rashford was on the end of several opportunities. However, the England international failed to get on the scoresheet. And speaking after the match on Amazon Prime via Metro, Henry, who is one of the best attackers in PL history, felt the 24-year-old was putting too much power behind the ball.

“He could have done better.

“What you do normally, he just fires low and across. Power is not always the answer.”

Rashford had a good game overall against Tottenham. The Man United forward looked threatening throughout the game. However, his end product left a lot to be desired.

The 24-year-old was not composed in certain instances. And while Lloris was brilliant, on most occasions, the ball was shot at him rather than in the corners.

The Red Devils had sustained periods of pressure in the first half. We had most of the ball and created some good chances. However, the Old Trafford side faltered in the final third.

Fortunately, the second half started in the best possible manner as Fred’s deflected shot beat the Spurs captain in between the sticks to break the deadlock in the 47th minute. And Bruno Fernandes doubled our lead in the 69th minute.

While it was not Rashford’s night, the England international has been an important player for us this season. The 24-year-old has been preferred by Erik ten Hag in the number nine position ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rashford is our top goalscorer in the 2022/23 campaign. Hopefully, the forward can be more clinical in front of goal and become our talisman.
