Lazio president Claudio Lotito has quashed rumours around Sergej-Milinkovic Savic amidst links to Manchester United. The Italian club’s chief has stated it would now take £105 million to get a hold of the Serbian’s signature.

While the Red Devils and Liverpool have been associated with Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio have not received any formal bids from the Premier League. The 27-year-old’s current contract with the Biancocelesti expires in 2024. And a January switch to Serie A giants Juventus is being talked about.

However, speaking to Il Messaggero (h/t Express), Lotito denied Milnkovic-Savic’s move to the Old Lady and any other sides in the winter window. He also claimed the midfielder’s price had gone up.

“I have no agreement with his agent [Mateja] Kezman to sell him to Juventus or anyone else in the winter.

“On the contrary, he is now worth €120m [£105m], not €100m [£88m]. Every month the price goes up.”

Milinkovic-Savic has been one of the best players in Italy over the years. The 27-year-old signed for the Serie A outfit in the summer of 2015 and has since played in the number eight and number 10 positions.

In the previous campaign, Milinkovic-Savic featured in 37 Serie A games, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists. And the Serbian star has taken that form into the current season as well, with four goals and seven assists in 12 games in all competitions.

United signed Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to strengthen the middle of the park in the recent transfer window. The Denmark international has been one of the most impactful signings for the Red Devils.

Eriksen has surprised fans with his performances under Erik ten Hag. And the 30-year-old has been an important player in the team this season.

United also signed a reputed defensive midfielder from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022. And Casemiro got the Man of the Match in his first Premier League start against Everton in the 2-1 victory.
