Marcus Rashford lauds ‘unbelievable’ Manchester United forward Anthony Martial
Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has lauded “unbelievable” Anthony Martial after the Red Devils’ 3-2 win over Omonia Nicosia in the UEFA Europa League. The English and French forwards got themselves on the scoresheet in Cyprus.
Omonia took the lead in the first half and went into the break a goal up. However, Rashford and Martial came on as second-half substitutes and helped the Old Trafford side get the three points.
Speaking after the victory at the GSP Stadium via Metro, the United academy graduate was all praise for the former AS Monaco forward.
“He is a massive player for us, has been for a long time. When he is happy and at it he is an unbelievable player.”
Rashford replaced Jadon Sancho at half-time. And the 24-year-old gave the Red Devils the equalising goal in the 53rd minute.
Bruno Fernandes was taken off at the hour mark, with Martial coming on. The French star gave United the lead just after getting into the game, scoring in the 63rd minute.
Rashford scored another goal late in the game. Omonia also got one back seconds later to make it 3-2. However, the Old Trafford side managed to hold onto their lead to get the victory.
Martial has not played much for United this season. The French forward had a good pre-season under Erik ten Hag. However, he has been on the sidelines mostly.
But when Martial has been given opportunities, he has contributed. The 26-year-old came on as a substitute against Liverpool and provided Rashford with an assist in the 2-1 victory. The France international also bagged a brace, albeit a consolation, in the 6-3 defeat against Manchester City.

Martial coming back will evidently give a boost to our attacking line. The forward has been in fine form under the Dutch manager. Hopefully, the 26-year-old has gotten over his fitness issues and remains fit for the rest of the season.
