Galatasaray thinking about making a move for Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof
Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof is a target for Super Lig giants Galatasaray. The Lions are considering a move for the Sweden international, according to A Spor (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Galatasaray’s defender Victor Nelsson is being tipped for a move away from Turkey. And the Super Lig outfit have Lindelof in their sights as a replacement.
Lindelof signed for the Red Devils back in the summer of 2017 from SL Benfica. The 28-year-old has since become an integral part of the squad.
In the previous campaign, Lindelof featured 35 times for United. However, under Erik ten Hag, has played just once. The Sweden international started in the 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League.
The Red Devils signed Lisandro Martinez in the recent transfer window. The Argentine defender reunited with the Dutch manager in Manchester. And the 24-year-old has played in every game for United.
Martinez has been successfully paired with summer 2021 signing Raphael Varane. The 2018 World Cup winner has settled in this season after having fitness issues in his debut campaign.
Harry Maguire is still the club captain of the Old Trafford side. The England international has not started in the Premier League since the 4-0 loss to Brentford. However, he still seems to be the third choice.
Lindelof has gone down the pecking order at the club. The 28-year-old has not been able to convince fans of his qualities in his time in Manchester. As a result, he evidently has not been trusted.
