Antonio Valencia hopes Ecuador youngster Moises Caicedo joins Manchester United in the future

Former Manchester United star Antonio Valencia hopes the Red Devils sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian national wants to see his compatriot in a red shirt.

Caicedo signed for the Seagulls in the winter window of 2021. However, the 21-year-old broke into the Sussex-based club’s team in January this year. The Ecuador international has since become a key member for Brighton.

Speaking to La Radio Redonda (h/t Express), Valencia is eager to see Caicedo seal a move to a top side in England. And the Ecuadorian national, who spent 10 years at United, wishes the Red Devils go in for the 21-year-old.

“Hopefully Moises Caicedo can go to a big team in England. He is a humble boy, he was born to be great and hopefully he can come to Manchester United.”

Caicedo has already established himself in the Ecuador national team. The 21-year-old made his debut for La Tri aged 18. In October 2020, the Brighton midfielder started in a 1-0 defeat to Argentina in a South American World Cup Qualification fixture.

The Seagulls have played six games in the Premier League this season. Caicedo has started every game for Brighton and has put in impressive performances.

Erik ten Hag faced the Seagulls in his first competitive game in the Old Trafford dugout. Brighton visited Manchester and beat us 2-1. Caicedo ran the middle of the park with his energy.

Since the defeats in the opening two matches, United have found stability. The engine room seems to have found its balance with Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes.

The midfield trio have started every game in the league since the 4-0 loss to Brentford. And the Red Devils have gone on a four-game win streak, beating the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
