Club News: Manchester United trio named in Under-25 power ranking
Manchester United trio of Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez and Antony have been listed in the ranking for players under 25 in data released by CIES Football Observatory (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Dalot was ranked second in the list of ‘defensive infiltrators’, behind Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. Martinez was ranked third in the list of ‘ground blocker filter man’, which Martin Zubimendi topped.
In the list of ‘shooter infiltrators’, Antony was ranked fifth behind Davide Frattesi, Jamal Musiala, Kylian Mbappe and Rafael Leao.
Dalot has been fine form this season and so has Martinez. Both the players have been rock solid at the back for United, after getting off to a very shaky start.
Losing the first two games, United have bounced back by winning four on the trot, including a 3-1 win over Arsenal. Martinez was even named the United player of the month for August.
Antony meanwhile has also taken no time to get settled at this side of Manchester. The winger made his debut against the Gooners and found the back of the net. Since then he has started in all the games for Erik ten Hag.
With this week’s game against Leeds United being postponed, the Red Devils will not play this month. Ten Hag will have more than 15 days to prepare his side for the Manchester derby on October 2. All three mentioned players are in contention to start the game.

Martinez and Antony could go on to become Man United icons if they fulfil their potential at Old Trafford in the coming years. Dalot has work to do but the versatile full-back has continued to persevere and has found favour under managers like Ralf Rangnick and Ten Hag at United.
