Brighton & Hove Albion star and Manchester United target Moises Caicedo speaks on possible Chelsea move
Manchester United target Moises Caicedo has claimed it would be a dream to move to a club like Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion. The Ecuador international calls a move to a big club a “dream”.
Caicedo joined the Seagulls in the winter window of the 2021/22 season. However, the 20-year-old shined and attracted eyeballs after returning to Brighton in January after a short loan spell at Beerschot in Belgium.
Speaking about the Blues to Ole (h/t Metro), Caicedo suggested it would be difficult to turn down an approach from the likes of Chelsea. The Ecuador international hopes to achieve success at a top side.
“I think they [Chelsea] are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. It’d be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and succeed there.”
United are one of the teams that have been keeping an eye on Caicedo. However, the Red Devils will have to contend with the Stamford Bridge side and Arsenal, who are also interested in the 20-year-old.
Caicedo has impressed in the games he has played against United. Last season, the Ecuador international scored against the Red Devils as the Seagulls beat United 4-0.
United face Brighton in the first game of the 2022/23 campaign. However, Erik ten Hag’s reign at the club did not go off to the start most fans had expected. The Sussex-based club came to Manchester and beat us 2-1. And Caicedo put in a good display once again.
In the past, United have had one of the best exports from Ecuador to play for them. Antonio Valencia was a key member of a successful Red Devils side. He also eventually became the captain of the Manchester-based club.

However, Chelsea have recently appointed former Brighton boss Graham Potter as manager. Caicedo became an important player under the English head coach. Whether that becomes a consideration in the 20-year-old’s transfer in the future remains to be seen.
