Erik ten Hag will not be getting a new right-back and central midfielder as Manchester United set to end spending spree

Manchester United are not going to make any more signings this summer to bolster Erik ten Hag’s squad after agreeing to pay Ajax £84 million for Antony, according to The Mirror.

The Dutch manager was planning to get a new right-back and another central midfielder this summer. However, United have scrapped those plans after their spending spree.

The Red Devils have completed four other moves already this transfer window. Tyrell Malacia was the first one to come through the doors. The left-back was signed from Feyenoord.

Christian Eriksen became Ten Hag’s second summer signing. The Denmark international arrived on a free transfer after spending a fruitful short spell at Brentford.

Lisandro Martinez reunited with his former Ajax manager in Manchester. The Argentine centre-back became United’s third signing of the summer. The 24-year-old has quickly established himself in the starting XI.

The Red Devils made a surprise signing in Casemiro. United signed the five-time Champions League winner from Real Madrid. The Manchester-based club paid a lot of money to acquire the defensive midfielder’s signature.

And once the Red Devils officially confirm the arrival of Antony, United will have brought five new faces to bolster Ten Hag’s squad. The Brazilian has been one of the best players in the Eredivisie over the last couple of seasons.

However, considering the start we had to the 2022/23 campaign, fans want a complete overhaul of the team. United fell to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford in the first two fixtures of the new season.

The right-back and the middle of the park are positions supporters feel the squad could add more quality in. It remains to be seen whether the club will change their stance on bolstering the side further this summer.
