Manchester United starlet Facundo Pellistri ruled out of action for a month
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United winger starlet Facundo Pellistri is set to be ruled out for the rest of the month after suffering an ankle injury against Atletico Madrid in a pre-season tour.
Pellistri is one of the most talented wingers that Manchester United have in their ranks. A very talented forward, the Uruguayan is highly regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in European football.
The talented Uruguayan joined Man United from Penarol in 2020. He was loaned out to Deportivo Alaves six months later and the talented 20-year-old spent the last eighteen months out on loan at the Spanish club.
The 20-year-old Uruguayan starlet played 22 times for the Spanish club last season failing to score or assist even a single goal across all competitions. Despite that lack of goal contributions, Pellistri managed to get a lot of game time.
Erik ten Hag decided to trust the Uruguayan with a role in the first team in the preseason and Pellistri even managed to score a goal in their first pre-season game against Liverpool. He looks set to stay on at Old Trafford now.
Even if Man United were planning to loan Pellistri out, it is not possible now with the Uruguayan set to be injured until the transfer window ends. Hence, it will not be easy for the Red Devils to loan out the 20-year-old.
The talented starlet is a mainstay in the Uruguayan national team. He has impressed during his time there and has already won six caps. He will want to be on the flight to Qatar later this year for the World cup.
Pellistri represents a very exciting crop of young wingers that Manchester United have. The list also includes the talented Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo who also may have great futures in a Red Devils shirt.
