“My biggest dream”- Manchester United-linked youngster makes Liverpool admission

Flamengo and Manchester United-linked midfielder Joao Gomes expresses desire to play for Liverpool

Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes, who has been linked with Manchester United, has expressed his desire to play for Premier League side Liverpool. The 21-year-old also dreams of the Champions League.

Gomes is a versatile player who’s played in various positions. The most prominent role given to the Brazilian has been the defensive midfield one.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil via Sport Witness (h/t Liverpool Echo), Gomes said that Liverpool were the team he’d play for. And taking part in Europe’s premier competition is the aspiration of the 21-year-old and his family.

“Liverpool are a team I’d play for. I have the greatest desire to play. Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream and that of my family, my biggest dream in football.”

Gomes is considered one of the most talented prospects in Brazil. There’s a lot of potential in the midfielder to grow into one of world football’s biggest stars.

United could give chances to the youngsters in the squad. James Garner has established himself as one of the best youngsters in English football. The 21-year-old was one of Nottingham Forest’s stars last season as they were promoted to the PL.

Hannibal Mejbri is another name that emerged last season at United. We have seen other prospects emerge during pre-season under Erik ten Hag. Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage took their chances in the friendlies and impressed a lot of people.
