Transfer News: Manchester United target Benjamin Sesko makes future decision
According to Sky Sport Austria (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United target Benjamin Sesko has decided to stay at RB Salzburg for the upcoming campaign despite interest from the Red Devils and Chelsea.
A talented striker, Sesko’s performances in the Austrian Bundesliga have not gone unnoticed with many clubs in Europe interested in the talented player’s performances. Man United and Chelsea have been heavily linked with the player though.
It has always seemed like the Austrian club did not want to sell the player this season at least and have not really shown interest in negotiations. However, both English clubs seemed to be willing to pay big for the prodigious striker.
The teenage striker joined Salzburg from NK Domzale in 2019 and has since then gone on to become one of the most exciting striker prospects in European football. His performances have been really impressive and he is destined for the highest in the game.
Just 19 years of age, Sesko is putting up a real show in Austria. The numbers that he produces are not normal and shows why he is so highly rated. In 36 matches last season, the Salzburg striker scored 10 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions.
It is no secret that Manchester United want to sign a striker to reinforce their options ahead of next season despite the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial. The former’s future at the club is far from certain though.
The Portuguese superstar wants to leave the club this summer and it remains to be seen if a move materializes between now and the end of the season. This will leave Martial as the only option for the Red Devils.
The Frenchman has had a great start to life under Erik ten Hag but he got injured at the wrong time and is expected to miss the start of the season. This will leave the Red Devils extremely understaffed with options to play at striker.
