Manchester United are ken on former Manchester City forward Leroy Sane
Sane joined the Cityzens in 2016 from Schalke. After impressing in his first few seasons, the German lost his place in Pep Guardiola’s side. And an injury sidelined the 26-year-old for the majority of his last season in Manchester.
Sane joined Bayern in 2020. But a return to Germany hasn’t been easy for the former City star. The 26-year-old has been inconsistent with his form. Injury issues have followed the winger in Munich as well.
United are currently looking for forwards in the market. Erik ten Hag has been after Antony from Ajax, But a deal looks unlikely at the moment with the Eredivisie champions not keen on losing the Brazilian.
The Red Devils are in the market for a forward and urgently need one. The future of Cristiano Ronaldo is uncertain at Old Trafford. The 37-year-old was our top goalscorer in the previous campaign. Losing him would be a big blow for United.
The forward line was underwhelming last season. The likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho weren’t able to find their feet in the 2021/22 campaign. They didn’t have the impact people had envisioned.
Anthony Martial was another attacking option who failed to get into the team regularly last season. After not being given the opportunities in Manchester, the Frenchman opted for a short loan to Sevilla.
Under Ten Hag, the forward line has looked much better. Ronaldo hasn’t featured much, but the trio of Sancho, Martial and Rashford have been impressive during the pre-season.
