“It’s good. I think it’s always been good. We all get on really well and we’re like a family.

“We aim to create a family atmosphere and, with that, everyone feels together and close and that makes things better out on the pitch. There is definitely a good vibe and it’s been really enjoyable with the new manager and his ideas.”

Last summer started with a hopeful indication of something special happening in Manchester. We had a club legend in the dugout, signed three quality players and prepared for the season appropriately.

Amongst the incoming a year back was Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal international’s homecoming had a lot of fans excited. The 37-year-old delivered as well, ending last season as our top goalscorer.

But in the end, the previous campaign was one to forget for players and fans alike. We ended the campaign in sixth place, missing out on Champions League football. The Manchester-based club went trophyless.

Last season Manchester United stars were often dejected on the pitch.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, we weren’t performing to our capabilities. But the arrival of Ralf Rangnick served as a reality check for the supporters. Players’ body language on the pitch reeked of disappointment.

Apart from a couple of stars, no one made a big enough impact in the team. Only one of the new signings managed to live up to expectations. Fans felt the squad was broken.
