Juventus are keen on signing Manchester United forward Anthony Martial to replace Morata
According to Sky Sports, Juventus has identified Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial as a potential replacement for Alvaro Morata who has returned to Madrid after completing his loan spell with the Old Lady.
The forward struggled badly during his six-month loan stint with Sevilla when he only managed two goals in 23 appearances across all competitions, and the Red Devils seemed ready to let him go this summer.
After all, why else would they loan out a striker mid-season? It was clear that he was not in the short-term plans of Ralf Rangnick, who has now left.
However, Erik ten Hag’s arrival appears to have given the Frenchman’s Manchester United career new life. Martial delighted the Dutch strategist with his recent exploits and was among the first players to rejoin the team for preseason.
But Juventus are keen on breaking the newly born partnership as they are eyeing signing Martial in an attempt to replace Alvaro Morata who has returned to Atletico Madrid following a decent loan deal with the Old Lady.
Martial has scored 79 goals and provided 50 assists in 269 games for Manchester United since joining the team as a highly-regarded teenager in 2015. Erik ten Hag will bet on the 26-year-old’s performance to pay off. It will be intriguing to watch who Serie A powerhouse Juventus look to for reinforcements on their forward line.
Following the additions of Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old fell down the pecking order. However, with the Uruguayan departing the team this summer and the latter appearing to be leaving, Martial has a significant opportunity before him.
However, he thrived while leading the charge of the Manchester United attack because Cristiano Ronaldo, who is still trying to force a departure from the team, had not yet joined the rest of the group.
During the Red Devils’ preseason tour of Thailand and Australia, the Englishman started each of the four friendly games, scoring three goals.

Martial appears to be a part of ten Hag’s plans for the future season, therefore Manchester United would be wise to make every effort to keep him this summer. That is especially the case given Edinson Cavani’s exit, Mason Greenwood’s indefinite suspension, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s future being up in the air.
