Ajax are close to acquiring Antony replacement amid Manchester United interest
According to The Mirror, Ajax are closing on signing Porto winger Francisco Conceição who is being considered as a potential replacement for Manchester United target Antony.
According to The Times, Antony is a top target for United, and he is “determined” to join the team and reconnect with Erik ten Hag. The 22-year-old is valued at a sky-high price of £70 million by Ajax at the moment, which might have made United second guess their pursuit.
Currently, it is thought that the Dutch giants might be willing to part with their number 11, as they have already identified Conceicao as a potential successor for the South American.
It is no longer breaking news that Man United wants to sign Brazilian star Antony. Erik ten Hag is eager to reunite with the outstanding Ajax winger at Old Trafford since he has been one of the most sought-after wide men in Europe.
Anyone who has watched Antony play will understand why Man United are so eager to capture the winger after witnessing his impressive displays for Ajax in the Eredivisie and Champions League as well as during his time with the Brazilian national side.
It is very obvious that our attacking line-up is unbalanced, with the left side taking centre stage because of the vast array of alternatives that are accessible in that role. We are severely lacking at the right-wing position as a result of Mason Greenwood’s indefinite suspension and Jadon Sancho’s conversion to a left winger.
In the first two preseason games, Jadon Sancho has shown promise on the right side of United’s attack, but Antony cutting inside onto his gifted left foot would offer Ten Hag’s assault more menace and depth.
