Manchester United confident about Christian Eriksen transfer despite Thomas Frank comments
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are confident about finalising a transfer for Christian Eriksen despite the comments made by Thomas Frank recently. The Brentford boss revealed a few days ago that the attacking midfielder could stay with them beyond this summer.
Eriksen is currently a free agent after he was with the Bees for the last six months since joining them back in January. He has verbally given his approval to join Man United, but both of them are still in talks to discuss the final touch-ups involved in a transfer agreement.
Hence, those at Old Trafford have played down Frank’s admission with the Red Devils preparing contracts last Monday. That being said, there are doubts about whether Eriksen would make it in time to be a part of the squad before the pre-season begins this Tuesday.
Official announcement soon?
This latest update would gladly be welcomed by the supporters, as they were concerned about the Bees manager’s words. Now, the fans can breathe a sigh of relief after they have been assured about this matter by those close to the Manchester outfit.
Then again, it would be best if a move could be facilitated so that Erik ten Hag can work with Eriksen at the earliest. That would also help the midfielder get accustomed to the new surroundings soon, which is quite important to build chemistry with his new teammates.
We have already signed Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, and Eriksen is looking likely to be the next one on the list. Since the paperwork in the deal was being prepared earlier this week, one could say that an official announcement could be soon on the horizon indeed.
Eriksen’s addition would greatly help to increase competition within midfield which has seen players like Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard leave this summer. The Dane could also force others like Donny van de Beek and Bruno Fernandes to do their best as the latter two struggled with their form last season.

Eriksen would also bring creativity and control into the centre of the pitch, which was some of the issues that we had run into in the previous campaign. The 30-year-old would also help us to deal with Paul Pogba’s departure as replacing Pogba is quite difficult indeed, even if he did not perform to his best in recent times.
Let’s hope to see an official announcement soon so that we can focus our attention on other targets like Antony and Lisandro Martinez of Ajax, for example.
