Transfer News: Manchester United target Palmeiras winger Gabriel Veron

According to The Mirror, Manchester United are currently plotting whether to target Palmeiras winger Gabriel Veron or not in this summer transfer window. The club’s scouts have assessed the youngster and have been left “stunned” by him, causing them to monitor his situation further.

Veron has attracted interest from several European outfits, with Man United being one among them. Palmeiras have changed their stance and are now open to selling him after the increased attention for his services. The English side has been handed a boost by this and is pursuing him right now as a result.

The Brazilian club values the U-20 Brazil international at around £10 million at this moment. The Red Devils are looking to loan him back to Palmeiras should they sign him amidst heavy competition. Palmeiras are willing to sell Veron in the region of their valuation, but whether Man United would pay that fee or not would need to be seen.

Man Utd to sign Veron?

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a fair bit of time with the first team set up in the previous campaign. Veron looks in line to have a breakthrough season shortly if his performances are anything to go by. With a goal and five assists from 32 matches across all competitions, he certainly looks set to be on the right track.

However, the South American’s minutes amount to just 1398 in total, which shows that his output is quite solid indeed. Furthermore, he has also showcased excellent flexibility to play anywhere in the forward areas despite primarily being a right-winger in trade.

The current asking price can be deemed quite reasonable for someone who is tipped to become a future superstar. Moreover, his contract will only expire in the summer of 2026, which does give Palmeiras quite some leeway to demand a high valuation.

However, we must keep an eye out for competition from the other interested parties who remain unknown even now. As such, it would be best if we discuss this matter internally and reach a conclusion at the earliest.

Perhaps, our idea of loaning Veron back to Palmeiras could lend us an edge over other rivals in this pursuit. After all, the South American side can keep hold of him for longer, but whether that will play a significant part or not will only be known in due time.
