Tottenham Hotspur could rival Manchester United to sign RB Leipzig star Nordi Mukiele
According to Manchester Evening News, Tottenham Hotspur could pose trouble to Manchester United in their attempt to sign RB Leipzig star Nordi Mukiele this summer. He has been linked with a move to Old Trafford recently following a solid campaign in Germany in the previous season.
Man United are currently looking into the market for a new right-back which has resulted in them getting touted as a potential destination for Mukiele. He is on the back of an impressive time at Leipzig and could undoubtedly be a solid option to boost their defensive line.
However, the Red Devils would now need to worry about Tottenham, who could register their interest in the Frenchman’s signature. Spurs also require reinforcements in that role, so it is a possibility that he may just be on their radar as they look to back Antonio Conte ahead of the next season.
Man Utd face Spurs problem?
The North London side has been pursuing Djed Spence to bolster their right-wing-back role, but they have failed to find common ground with Middlesbrough over the transfer fees so far. Should that continue, the former would be forced to search for alternative targets to meet their needs.
Hence, this news could hold some weight after all, as Mukiele was arguably in the conversations for the best right-back in Bundesliga last season. As such, we must remain on our toes now that Antonio Conte’s side could become a threat to our chances of signing him.
The 24-year-old had garnered two goals and five assists to his name in the previous campaign from 36 matches across all competitions. That is a solid return indeed, plus he has earned rave reviews for making an impact in the attacking department while being defensively sound as well.
That makes Mukiele a perfect addition to our squad, looking at the current circumstances. After all, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is in line to be sold this summer for the right price, which creates a spot that must be filled to maintain depth in our ranks.

Diogo Dalot had impressed quite well last campaign under Ralf Rangnick, but he has some ways to go in terms of his defensive output before becoming a dependable option. Mukiele is a solid shout indeed in such a case, but we may have to ramp up our efforts to prevent Conte’s team from having a chance at all in the first place.
