Manchester United star Nathan Bishop has loan interest from Wycombe Wanderers

According to journalist Alex Crook of talkSPORT on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United star Nathan Bishop has attracted interest from Wycombe Wanderers, who are looking to sign him on a loan transfer move. His development took a rapid rise last season, and this deal could give him the right means to build on that promise moving forward.

Bishop had spent the previous campaign on loan at Mansfield and had enjoyed a great time with them during that period. He had helped them reach the play-off final in the League Two division, but they missed out on the promotion in the end.

Regardless of that setback, the Englishman has turned some eyes and has now earned interest from Wycombe. Should a move happen to materialise, it would provide him with the right step in his progression, as playing in the League One division would raise the challenge for him.

Perfect move for Bishop?

The 22-year-old was a regular for the League Two side in the previous campaign, having made 53 appearances for them across all competitions. He also earned 16 clean sheets during that period and conceded only 64 goals in the process.

Having earned rave reviews for his displays last season, perhaps it is best for the Man United ace to raise the difficulty level moving forward. Hence, a move to the League One division would help with his natural growth, which the fans would hope to see moving forward.

Bishop still has some ground to cover if he hopes to earn a spot in our first-team setup. He could be a solid backup goalkeeper for years to come if he maintains this trajectory in the future. Then again, nothing can be guaranteed just yet due to the volatile nature of football.

The Chairboys had finished six in their division last campaign, which means that they are quite a stable team for Bishop to join this summer. Hence, we could see a move being finalised shortly as the Red Devils may just feel that he would enjoy the right support to improve his qualities.

Ensuring the right progression should always take priority over the monetary benefits when it comes to such deals, so it would be wise on our part to allow this deal to take place on the right terms. Only time will tell whether that will be the case or not this summer.
